Banding together at Roxy

16 May, 2008 09:26 AM
The combination of the Leeton Town Band, the Riverina Concert Band and the Griffith City Band will create a “Band Spectacular” tomorrow night.

Leeton band musical director Ruth Pait said the musicians were well prepared for the big night.

“There is quite a bit of excitement around,” she said.

“It will be the first time they have done anything like this for some of them, and I’m a learner as well.

“Some of them have had quite a bit of experience though, so we are relying on them.”

The bands will be rehearsing in the theatre on Saturday and a networking and information session will be held prior to the show.

Roxy manager Karen Coelli said it would be a rare chance for musicians to gather.

She said the Leeton Town Band had worked hard to prepare for the night.

“I really hope the town will support them because it’s a really big thing,” she said.

The information session begins at 4pm and the concert at 7.30pm.

Adult tickets are $15, children $10 or $45 for a family, including supper.
