LEETON Shire Council's newest fleet vehicle will be a highly visual advertisement for the shire.
Leeton Shire Council general manager David Laugher said the new car is a bold advertisement for the region.
"This is the car that will be used by staff when they travel outside of the shire," Mr Laugher said.
"The colourful design will provide an opportunity to market the local attractions and raise awareness of our region."
The red SUV features graphics promoting Leeton Shire, with the design incorporating council's logo, along with a farmer in a rice crop, an orange tree laden with fruit and an egret catching a fish from water.
Council corporate communications manager Jason Richardson said the images reflect the Leeton environment.
"The council logo already shows the Art Deco heritage in its stylised vignette of Chelmsford Place with the Irrigation Commission building and the Walter Burley Griffin-designed water towers," he said.
"The rice and citrus crops show a couple of the largest agricultural enterprises in the region and the waterbird is one inhabitant of Leeton Shire's Ramsar-listed wetlands."
The design also includes the council motto of "Preserving the past, enhancing the future" on the bonnet and tail gate.
The vehicle also boasts the iconic "LEETON" number plates.
"In developing the design I looked at the four-colour palate already used in the council logo and considered what would complement the existing style," Mr Richardson said.
The graphics were produced in Leeton.
