THE 109TH Annual Conference of Country Press NSW held an awards dinner on Friday evening with The Irrigator picking up an advertising award.
The dinner was held in Sydney with The Irrigator winning the best locally produced advertising award.
The award was presented for an ad for MIA Optical Services titled "dEYEabetic".
Judges commented the ad had a dramatic headline and powerful illustration combine to arrest the reader's eye.
This was the second time this year The Irrigator has been honoured with an award for advertising.
Earlier this year the advertising and sales department won the Fairfax Media Regional Publishing Award (Regional non-daily) for Best Display Advertisement for the same ad for MIA Optical Services.
Manager of the The Irrigator Felicity Nolen travelled to Sydney for the awards.
"It's a wonderful result and even better considering the ad won an award at the Fairfax Sale Conference earlier this year," she said.
"The training we receive helps us create ads that best deliver the message from businesses to their customers."
