POLICE have issued a safety warning to residents following a spate of break and enters that have occured recently.
Within the last week there has been a number of incidents where offenders have broken into homes while the victim(s) have been sleeping or in the yard gardening.
The thieves are entering through unlocked doors or windows and are looking for cash and other valuable items such as jewellery.
Griffith Local Area Command Senior Constable Cheryl Dunlop asked residents to ensure their homes were secure, particularly at night.
Police are also urging residents to report and suspicious person(s) or vehicles that are not familiar to them, regardless of the time of day.

POLICE are also advising farmers to secure farm chemicals following thefts of large amount of chemicals.
There has been a number of incidents where large amounts of chemicals such as insecticides, herbicides and pesticides have been stolen from farms.
The offenders are targeting the farms at night and stealing large drums of the chemicals.
Griffith Local Area Command Senior Constable Kelly Henderson rural crime office asked farmers to secure their storage sheds and to only keep the amount of chemicals needed for a particular job.
"It helps police if chemical drums are marked with some type of identifying marks such as their name or a property name," she said.
