HOTEL Leeton was unable to take an outright win over Yanco Hotel when their two-day match concluded at Yanco Sportsground on Saturday.
Last weekend, Hotel Leeton bowled the Stags out for just 57 and batted well in reply to be 3-128 at stumps on day one to secure first-innings points.
Hotel Leeton declared before the start of play on day two with a lead of 71 runs.
Yanco Hotel's second innings started badly, losing both openers for ducks and was teetering at 3-5.
Matt Robertson (2-22) removed Luke DiSalvia and Travis Irvin added one wicket to his first innings haul of seven before Robertson grabbed his second with the scalp of Kyle Tuckett (3).
Steve McCarten (13) made a start before being run out by Kieran Moon and he was followed two overs later by captain Mark Doyle (13), who was caught by keeper Jacob Wessing off David Elwin.
At 5-40, the Stags were behind the eight ball, but a 39-run partnership between top-scorer Garth Chambers (39) and Mitchell Hutchinson (8) helped their team regain control.
The stand was broken when Chambers was bowled by Hotel Leeton captain Mark Shelley. Adam Chilko then made an impact on the match, ripping out the tail to finish with 4-18 from eight overs.
Only Dionisio Pantano (10) showed resistance as the Stags were bowled out for 109 with a lead of 38.
Needing 39 to take the maximum points, Hotel Leeton lost both openers for ducks just like the Stags. Shelley was caught by DiSalvia off Chambers (2-14) and Moon was trapped lbw by Pantano (2-5).
Hotel Leeton sank further when Chilko at number four was caught off Pantano for a golden duck.
Mick Fraser was dismissed by Chambers for eight as Hotel Leeton tried to get the runs quickly as it only had 13 overs.
Irvin (2no) joined Elwin (14no) at the crease, but Hotel Leeton ran out of time and finished at 3-27.
