I READ with utter dismay in The Irrigator (March 9) regarding the recent meeting held in relation to the sale of Carramar facilities in Leeton.
At this meeting it is quite apparent that the only council member present was mayor Paul Maytom. Why was this so? Why weren't more councillors present at this important meeting to back up other members of the community who are rightly concerned about the possible loss of the facility?
I ask why was the council general manager not present at this important meeting?
It appears to me that when the heat gets too much he stays in the cool, just like he did at the Yanco swimming pool meeting. Nowhere to be seen or heard.
Adrian Piccoli went on to say that he will be doing whatever he can to help and it was good to get the mayor back on side as well. What did he mean by that, I wonder?
Where were the councillors who so forthrightly voted to close the Yanco pool so quickly yet not one was present on this occasion. God help the people within Leeton Shire.

Editor's note: Cr Sam Ciccia was also present at the meeting.
