More than 270 students dressed up in their favourite book characters from across a broad range of genres, including everything from superheroes and super villains to every type of character in between present for the occasion.
Parents and community members flocked to the school to enjoy the occasion, braving chilly conditions to share in the creations that were being displayed by the children, according to librarian Cathy Dando.
"It has been the biggest Book Week I can remember," she said.
"Leeton Shire Council really came to the party with their celebrations during the week, while once again the Parkview community put the exclamation point on everything with an amazing turnout.
"The kids looked fantastic ... what a wonderful range of characters and costumes we had."Teachers got into the theme of the day, dressing in a range of costumes that amused the students and community members.

LEETON Public School students dressed in all kinds of costumes to ring in Book Week last week.
The theme for this year's event was Reading Across the Universe, with many aliens and space creatures found at the school last Tuesday.
A book parade was held with parents, grandparents and carers invited along to take part and see all of the colourful outfits come to life.
Following the parade, winner of the Children's Book Week early childhood book of the year The Terrible Suitcase was read aloud.
Receiving honours in that category were Too Many Elephants In The House and With Nan. Leeton Public students also took part in the library's activities during the week, which included a performance at the Leeton Indoor Stadium and sessions at the library each day last week.
The school will hold its Book Fair this week in the school's library.

ST JOSEPH'S Primary School students showed reading can be fun during their annual book character parade last Thursday.
Students learned about Book Week in the lead-up to the event and participated in the town library's events.
St Joseph's principal Helen Mulholland said the costumes had been given plenty of thought.
"The parade was fantastic," she said.
"I think Book Week is a real focus on books and the joy of reading.
"Students learn it can be fun to read and the parade ties in with that."

MURRAMI Public School students got into the spirit of Book Week with many bright costumes adorning the classroom last Thursday.
Book Week is celebrated at the school each year and 2013 was no different.
Students came dressed as their favourite book character for a parade, with others dressing to the theme of "Reading Across the Universe".
Parents also took part watching the parade with enthusiasm. Best dressed winners at the parade were Tori Harrison as the Mad Hatter and Travis Newman as Mario.
