PARKVIEW Public School students pedalled to the metal last week on their last day of school before the holidays.
For the second year running the school held a Bike Week event, with all students taking part in activities during the day.
A course around the buildings was designed especially for the day as students weaved and wobbled their way throughout the school on their bicycles.
Parkview Public principal Travis Irvin there were many benefits from the event.
"Through guest speaker Sandra Robinson from council they learn all about being safe on the road and the presentation from the guys at Eurell's, they learn about bike maintenance and the need to pay attention to that," he said.
"Obviously there's the health benefits too.
"We're lucky with the layout of the school that we can have a challenging track for the kids."
NSW Bike Week is an annual celebration of cycling, encouraging people from all walks of life to get on a bike and ride.
"We'll be making it an annual event at the school," Mr Irvin said.
"Hopefully more students will start riding to school ... we've got some great cycling pathways in our town and they are only getting better, so it would be good to see the students using them to get to and from school."

Wheely big end to 2013 Bike Week
AROUND 70 people turned up to help celebrate the conclusion of Bike Week in Leeton on Sunday with a ride around the town's cycling tracks.
Keen cyclists gathered at the No. 3 oval for the ride, which was a resounding success according to Leeton Shire Council road safety and traffic officer Sandra Robinson.
"Unfortunately we didn't have the best weather and obviously the sports events on had an effect as well," she said.
"But the people who came had a really good time and it was another successful event for us."
Mrs Robinson said it was good to see cycling becoming an increasingly popular pastime in Leeton.
"A lot of the kids are out and about on their bikes during the school holidays," she said.
"It's good to see so many young children are interested in cycling.
"It bodes well with all of the stuff we're doing at council with building the new bike tracks."
Bike Week in Leeton this year was all about promoting safe cycling in the town, with Mrs Robinson also giving a talk at Parkview Public School last Friday about the topic.
