Competing at the ABC's Ultimo Headquarters in Sydney, Lilly competed against 43 other finalists from across NSW.
Parkview Public students streamed the competition final into their classrooms, with a chorus of cheers erupting after every successful attempt from Lilly.
The year 3 student produced an inspiring run that had the classroom audience in Leeton glued to their seats for over two hours until she was eliminated in the ninth round of competition.
She was one of three Riverina entrants to reach that round, which was the second of "unseen" words.
Her run was brought to an end by "corduroy", after successfully spelling eight words correctly - (in round order) include, tectonic, calamari, alpaca, harmonium, reconciliation, symposium and interpretation.
For the record, when tested on "corduroy" at an assembly after the event, Lilly correctly spelled the word.
