Miss Macarthur, 24, is looking forward to what lies ahead as part of the quest with the support of her committee, the SunRice Social Club.
The namesake of both her committee and the event is also the place of her employment, where she works in information services for the help desk.
Miss Macarthur has selected the Leeton branch of Can Assist as her charity for the quest.
"I thought of them because everyone knows someone that has cancer ... it's too common," she said.
"The effects of cancer are felt by the whole community in different ways.
"Funding is very important to the person and families that are impacted by this disease."
Prior to starting at SunRice, Miss Macarthur worked in the retail sector after completing her school years at St Joseph's Primary School and St Francis College.
She lists her interests as caring for animals, outdoor activities and travelling.
It isn't the first time Miss Macarthur has been encouraged to take part in the quest.
"I was asked two years ago, but now that I'm two years older I felt now was a better time to do it," she said.
"My committee are really excited ... it's been six years since they've had someone do it.
"I'm hoping to get more out there in the community as part of it.
"The (festival) is a really fun day where everyone in the community comes together. That's my favourite part."
Fund-raisers already on the horizon for Miss Macarthur include a golf day, a fashion parade and high tea, and a trivia night.
