LEETON'S Tony Reneker has returned with two medals from the 2014 Police and Emergency Services Games.

Reneker competed in the 50 to 67 years age group and won gold in the 400 metres and silver in the 200m.

The 2014 edition of the annual event was held in Melbourne from April 19 to 24, with the athletics taking place at the Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park.

"I've competed a few times," Reneker said. "You've got to be in either the emergency services or the police to enter.

"It was quite a good event. There were over 3000 competitors and 150 in track and field."

Also known as a Southern Inland Rugby Union referee, it is not the first time Reneker has competed at the annual games, nor is it the first time he has won medals.

"I enjoy just staying fit more than anything," he said.

Reneker posted a 400m time of 68 seconds and a 200m time of 29 seconds.

"I'm not going to challenge Usain Bolt," he joked.
