More than 90 entrants took part in the parade, including schools, community groups, street performers and many familiar faces.
Exciting children on the day was Ronald McDonald, Peppa Pig and friends and the Easter Bunny.
Pine Avenue was packed from top to bottom while residents clapped and waved the parade participants along.
Festival director Sally Doig was impressed with the quality of the entrants and the efforts they had put in.
"I always find it hard to estimate just how many people were there, but I've heard people were fairly well spread out throughout the main street," she said.
"Seeing all of the different floats was great.
"Everyone put in a lot of effort."
Hot air balloons also featured, along with motorcycle riders and vintage cars.
Following the parade the crowd moved behind the main street for the Festival on Mountford, which was again brimming with people, according to Mrs Doig.
"There was one moment where I looked out from the back of the stage and just thought 'wow, look at all of those people'," she said.
"It was just amazing.
"We try to have something for everyone and I think we achieved that."
There were various stallholders on the day, as well as rides and the announcing of the Ambassador Quest winners.
"The stallholders are mostly community groups selling their wares, so it's another way we are all giving back," Mrs Doig said.
"Many of them sold out, so it's good for them.
"This year we had Ronald McDonald performing on stage and last festival we had Adam Brand, so we do try to mix it up for young and old.
"It's a great feature of the festival."
