FOR the first time in 2014, Leeton United will hit the road as it takes on the winless Hanwood Juniors at Hanwood Oval tomorrow night.
United has had a stellar start to the season, making the most of back-to-back home games to sit atop the Griffith association ladder on six points.
As with most sports, the Easter long weekend meant a break in proceedings, but Leeton coach Mitchell Clay said it had been beneficial for his side and there will be no forced changes to his line-up.
"It has given a couple of players time to rest and come back from slight injuries and we are back into this week," Clay said.
Despite sitting at opposite ends of the spectrum, United won't take Juniors lightly.
"I don't really know how they have got on in their games," Clay said.
"We're just concentrating on ourselves and what we bring to the game.
"It's our first away game, which is a bit of a change, but we're looking forward to it.
"I'm still looking at a few players towards the end of the week. We'll come with a strong side.
"We set up differently for each team, but the basis of our game is to play good football. There's a strong core and we'll work around that."
The early wins have buoyed the Leeton club and Clay said not only were they vital to setting up the season, but to also hone the focus of his players.
"Everyone's realised we're off to a good start and we've got to keep the winning coming over the next few weeks," he said.
"Everyone is fully focused and looking to get the win."
WHILE the rest of the competition had a weekend off for Easter, Leeton's under 18s hosted West Griffith at No. 2 Oval last Thursday evening.
In a fast-paced game, Wests won 4-3, scoring all its goals in succession after United was first to put the ball in the back of the net.
Anthony Trifogli scored in the 15th minute with a beautiful shot from just outside the box. After a missed penalty, Wests equalised in the 28th minute with a long shot and the score was 1-all at half-time.
Coming out after the break, Wests were on top and scored in the 4th, 11th and 20th minutes.
Down 4-1, United was stirred into action with a wide shot following from Tory Amato's cross.
However, a through-ball from Nimalan Sundaram had Macauley Harrison in the clear and the ball went into the bottom left in the 30th minute. Harrison scored his double and United's third eight minutes later when Danyon Arnold put him in the clear and the ball went into the left corner.
