THE Eagles travelled to Young for the third round and with the divisions already determined found themselves in for some tough games in division one.
The girls started out well on the Saturday against a strong Bathurst Blue side, getting away to a great start and leading 18-4 at the first break. It was a different story from there as Bathurst clawed their way back into the match to be all square at half-time.
The lead then changed several times for the rest of the game with Bathurst holding on to a one-point lead when the final buzzer sounded, winning 60-59.
In the second game, Leeton came up against the equally strong Bathurst Gold. The girls fought back from a slow start to get very close on several occasions, but eventually went down 63-51.

O'Halloran scored well and Bek Wilson returned to form with a strong performance, easily her best for the year. Sophie McGregor, Laura Diebert and Sophie Dever also played well.
On the Sunday, Leeton lined up once again against Bathurst Blue and, having lost by a single point the day before the girls were determined to turn the result around.
Things didn't go to plan early in the game and at the first break the Eagles were down 14-4.
Coach Josh Clyne asked his senior players to stand up and lead the team, and from then on the game changed. Maddi and Bek took control of the contested rebounds and the team followed, executing their plays well and working hard for each other in defence.
Jessie found the basket at key moments, including a much needed three pointer. Amy Diebert was in everything and was well supported by Tiah Gillespie and Laura, with Sophie Dever doing everything her coach asked of her.
The team fought hard for a much deserved win 49-45.
The last game was against a tall Young side late on Sunday afternoon. It was a scrappy affair until half-time with the girls up by only five at the main break, 29-24.
Coach Clyne gave the girls a good old fashioned blast and it had the desired result as Leeton went on to win 64-40.
Maddi was outstanding scoring 40 points and Meg Wakeman played her best game for the year with her defensive rebound effort saving the team on many occasions. Sophie McGregor and Tiah were bruised and battered after a tough weekend, but kept fighting and the Diebert sisters played key roles in a great team effort.
