LEETON'S chance at redemption following a poor opening round comes this weekend under lights at No. 1 Oval.
The Greens were thumped by 42-14 by Waratah Tigers two weeks ago and tomorrow night they host West Wyalong in a bid to get their season on track.
Admittedly undermanned in round one, Leeton has had an erratic preparation for tomorrow night due to public holidays on training days.
"It was a bit disrupted last week, we only trained once," said coach Franky Fiumara.
"It will be disrupted again because we've got Anzac Day (today).
"We've got a few injuries again, but we've got Dave Stevens, Clint Halden and Shayne Roden back, which is a plus.
"They bring experience. I think that's what we missed in the first round.
"Experience goes a long way. Hopefully it will make the side stronger."
There will be little change to the first grade unit outside the return of those three.
"It's hard because of injury, but I think it's good to keep the same team each week, to work with that core of players," Fiumara said.
Although West Wyalong is traditionally a slow starter to the season, Fiumara believes the Mallee Men will come out all guns blazing tomorrow night.
"They didn't put a full side in the West Wyalong Knockout, they left a lot of players out," the mentor said.
"They were probably thinking they want to save them for the season."
It is the Mallee Men's halves, centres and hooker who worry the Leeton mentor the most, but he has a plan to counteract their effectiveness.
"We need a lot of bodies in motion, everyone getting up in their faces," Fiumara said.
"If you give them run, they run all over you.
"More or less, everyone has got to be on their game."
