Why else would both the state Nationals Member for Murrumbidgee Adrian Piccoli (contesting the new seat of Murray because boundary changes will see Murrumbidgee disappear) and the federal Nationals MP for Riverina Michael McCormack be ignoring the legitimate concerns of their own constituents?
The recent announcement that the CSIRO lab at Griffith has been ear-marked for closure makes it even clearer that the Nationals have just rolled over to their coalition partner, the Liberals, and are no longer representing rural communities.
These and other issues will be discussed at a meeting in the Griffith City Library in Banna Avenue on Thursday, July 10 commencing at 5pm.
Everyone interested in supporting the local community and getting better representation in our Parliaments is welcome to attend.
