A Facebook page set up by former teacher and police officer Amanda Prosser makes claims about current and former teaching staff from St Francis College and Leeton High School being involved in different cases of sexual abuse against students.
The Catholic Schools Office (CSO) released a statement to students and staff last week, with director of schools for the Wagga diocese Alan Bowyer aware of the page.
"I acknowledge that via a Facebook page, statements have been made that includes incorrect information in relation to current (staff)," Mr Bowyer said.
"Information concerning St Francis College staff in these statements is irrefutably incorrect.
"The CSO is taking all possible steps to preserve the personal and professional integrity of the individuals named in the posts and the good name of St Francis College.
"I want to assure you that appropriate legal and paralegal action is currently under way and the advice will be acted on accordingly in the protection of the good name of all concerned.
"This is a regrettable incident and the wellbeing of staff, students and community of the college is foremost in any action taken."
An inspector from the NSW Police Force Complaint Services department has been informed of the page and the claims made, but has deemed the allegations as "nothing of concern" and won't be investigating the alleged incidents described on the site.
The NSW Department of Education and Communities (DEC) has also issued a response to the page.
"The DEC is aware of the Facebook allegations about Leeton High School teachers," a DEC spokesman said.
"These allegations were previously investigated.
"As the matters had no relevance to current students, there has been no direct immediate communication to students and parents.
"The matter will be included on a P&C meeting agenda."
