Last year a research team from the Australia New Zealand School of Government Institute for Governance at the University of Canberra was in town to host a forum and discuss a vision for Leeton in 2030.
As part of the event residents were asked to fill out a regional wellbeing survey.
The survey was also distributed in other communities the research team visited.
The researchers will return to Leeton on Monday to present the results of the survey and discuss a way forward for Leeton shire.
Doctor Jackie Schirmer from the University of Canberra said most responses from Leeton shire residents in the survey were either on par with the national average or above.
"We were asking people about the well-being of their community and as an individual that lives in Leeton," she said.
"There are specific results that people can come along and hear about for Leeton.
"Leeton residents have reported they are happy with their quality of life, with the national average sitting at 5.3 and Leeton's above that at 5.5.
"They had a higher than average report of wellbeing as being members of the community too, so that is all positive."
Other results indicated Leeton shire residents are more likely to stay in the town than consider moving somewhere else.
Another positive was residents were happy with the leadership being provided in the community.
"The results are quite unusual in that there is such a high level of positive responses," Dr Schirmer said.
"One of the main concerns to come out of the survey was the obvious concerns about the Murray-Darling Basin Plan.
"We'll be addressing these concerns and other outcomes of the survey (on Monday).
The free, one-hour presentation will be held at the Historic Hydro Motor Inn on Monday from 11.45pm, with lunch provided.
