THE A grade Crows got back on the Riverina netball winner's list with a 30-goal win over Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong last Saturday.
Coach Nicole Matthews labelled the effort a "better performance" and a much needed win - for the points and to settle the season - after consecutive losses.
However, Leeton-Whitton had to overcome another erratic start.
"I don't know whether it comes down to wanting too much to play well until they settle into their game," Matthews said.
"I think some of them might be (starting nervous). It comes down to anything could happen.
"After half-time you can start to see the things they are doing in training working without them thinking about it."
Despite the start, the Crows pulled away to record an easy win.
"We needed to do that," Mattehws said.
"We turned the ball over and converted. The tougher sides tend to do that to you."
Michaela Fiumara, stepping into centre for the absent Clare Vant, and Jenna McCallum (wing defence) were best for the Crows.
This weekend the Crows have a bye and Matthews had her team play a game at training last night.
"Everyone can have a well-earned rest," she said of the break.
"It has come at a good time. It is going to be a tough last four rounds, which isn't a bad thing, as long as we beat them."
The top of the A grade ladder has tightened up after Leeton-Whitton's win, with Mangoplah-Cookardinia United-Eastlakes having the bye and Narrandera losing last weekend.
"It is going to come right down to the last round," Matthews said.
"We've got to keep pushing. I still think we've got our best netball to come yet. Hopefully that happens in finals."
