Each year the Riverina team of 17 Commonwealth Bank managers meet to review the year that was and set a plan for the new year.
This includes voting for the branch manager of the year, with the title this year going to Miss Cassone.
Area manager Sara Sutton and all branch managers from the Riverina anonymously voted online, with Miss Cassone coming out on top.
"I was pleasantly surprised to be named the Riverina branch manager of the year as I have only been in the role a relatively short time," she said.
"It is a privilege to be awarded it as I love building relationships with customers, staff at Leeton and staff throughout the Riverina.
"The most rewarding part of my role is developing those around me and providing support where possible, so it was really nice that I was recognised among my colleagues."
Miss Cassone has worked with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia since starting in 2007 as a teller.
She progressed to a customer service specialist at both the Leeton and Narrandera branches before being promoted to a personal lender role in Wagga.
After that, Miss Cassone worked her way to the assistant branch manager position before ending up back in the MIA in Leeton and Griffith.
"It's nice to be acknowledged by my peers, some of whom were involved in training me along the way," Miss Cassone said.
"At the core of my role is helping the customer firstly and foremost.
"I am passionate about engaging with our customers and looking after their financial needs."
