LEETON has turned the tables on Darlington Point-Coleambally with a come-from-behind 42-40 win at Coleambally on Sunday afternoon.
In their first meeting this year the Roosters were able to win by two points after coming from behind in a tight see-sawing affair; this time it was the Greens that finished the better.
As with that first game, dominance wavered and the scoreboard reflected that.
Although Leeton held an 18-16 lead at half-time, the Roosters bolted out of the blocks from the restart and put on 24 unanswered points to lead 40-18 with 17 minutes to go.
"(DPC) came out firing and we went to sleep," coach Franky Fiumara said.
"We've got to realise our potential at the start of the game. The Point are strong out there and if they get on a roll they are hard to stop. You've just got to be patient.
"I was happy at half-time, there was just a few things we needed to work on."
However, in an inspired period of play, Leeton, led by a cohort of under 18s, replied with its own return of 24 unanswered points in 17 minutes to claim the lead and take the win.
"Our under 18s really stood up, they got us on a roll," coach Franky Fiumara said.
"But everyone kicked into gear and said let's go."
Tristin Johnson and Corey Graham started in the run-on side and Fiumara called on the services of Josh Nikoro, Billy Gilbert and Rhys Wilesmith off the bench.
They came into the side for the formidable, but absent quartet of Clint Halden, PJ Asiata, Ben Evans and Kolo Lomu.
"That's why the win was even more impressive," Fiumara said. "It shows our juniors are the real deal.
"But I don't want them do do that again. I want them to do it easier."
