I am a frequent patron of a local business that has changed hands several times in the last 10 years.
The latest change of management occurred in November.
The new owners have set up a page on a social media site.
The reviews are mainly written by the owners close friends.
They all rave about how wonderful the product and service is.
As I do not agree with all the reviews I took the time to carefully write a public post on the business web page.
I did not wish to offend the owner, so I was careful to write the comment in an open and polite way making sure that all my criticism was constructive.
The owners took the time to reply with "Taken on board" and promptly deleted my post.
I find this to be a rude and offensive action.
It is a rather Stalinesque way of thinking when personal friends are asked to post glowing reviews, but when a paying patron offers some constructive criticism it is quickly and quietly removed.
The saying goes 'if you can't handle the heat, then get out of the kitchen'.
Well I say if you can't handle the critics, then don't operate in the public domain.
