ALL three Leeton-Whitton teams will be playing in the 2014 South West Junior Football League finals this weekend.
The under 15s Crows finished one top of the ladder, while the 11s and 13s both finished third and will need to win to stay alive.
Under 11s
Leeton-Whitton 8.9 (57) d Griffith White 2.3 (15)
THE Crows played Griffith Whites at home last Saturday for the last home and away game for the season.
The Crows were determined to prove they deserved a place in the finals.
The game was played on the main ground and the Crows had a great start, scoring four goals in the first quarter.
The first goal went to Will Pizzolante, who controlled the forward line for the first half of the game along with Jay Tang.
Tyson Melvin in the ruck was supported by Roan Patten, Hunter Booth and Harry Steele.
Emerson Cody at centre-halfback, supported by his flankers, kept the Whites scoreless for the first half.
Taj Doyle was moved to full-forward in the second half, taking a great mark and supplying plenty of opportunities to the forwards.
As the game progressed, the younger brigade of Ethan DePaoli, Nick Robinson and Jackson Woods came into the game, gaining many kicks.
This weekend Leeton-Whitton takes on Ganmain-Grong Grong-Matong in the first semi-final.
Awards: Nathan Baulch, Roan Patten, Jack Norden, Chris Iannelli
Under 13s
Griffith White 9.5 (59) d Leeton-Whitton 5.6 (36)
THE Crows thought they had the game won before they started, but Griffith Whites had other ideas.
The Whites started strongly in the first quarter with two goals.
The Crows only managed to kick a couple of behinds, with Jack Rourke being the standout player in the first quarter.
The Crows managed their first goal in the second quarter when Jye Doyle kicked from a long way out to have the ball just dribble over the goal line.
Coach Doyle rallied his team at half-time and the team responded by limiting the Whites to only one goal in the third quarter, with Angus Bolton pulling off the tackle the year on an opponent twice his size.
The Crows will have to find their old form and teamwork if they are to win the first round of the finals this weekend.

Griffith White 24 d Leeton-Whitton 12
THE Crows started strong and the score was six-all at quarter-time.
In the second and third quarters the Crows needed to slow the play down and let the score drift away.
Leeton's Kendall Young did an exceptional job in defence and Naomi Wyles made solid intercepts.
Despite the score, the final quarter was a high point for the Crows.
Tess Handsaker played well, ensuring consistent game flow and Chelsea Caffery and Seaena Penfold made the most of their opportunities in the goal circle.
Player of the week: Kendall Young
Awards: Naomi, Chelsea, Bianca Iannelli.
Under 15s
Griffith White 36 d Leeton-Whitton 15
THE girls were pumped and ready for the final game of the season.
The first quarter was good, with plenty of support and encouragement from the sidelines.
Meg Handsaker and Megan Carroll combined well in defence.
Tess Macauley had a run in wing attack during the second quarter and did well considering she is normally a defender.
During the third quarter Michela and Gemma combined well to add to the Crows' score.
Unfortunately, there were some basic mistakes (including offside and stepping) made by the Crows, which let Griffith move further into the lead.
Even though the under 15s did not have a win this season, they are to be commended on their dedication to the team and each other.
Thank you to Kim Handsaker and Eloise Boys.
We look forward to a competitive year in 2015.
