In an attempt to crack down on anti-social behaviour, the Leeton Liquor Accord, Griffith Local Area Command and Leeton Shire Council have teamed up to create a series of animated advertisements.
The clay-mation advertisements, a follow up campaign to the successful Bidgee Binge ads, show a variety of scenarios that people who are intoxicated in public could find themselves in.
Leeton Shire Council community services project officer Jacob Muthsam said the key message of the ads was simple. "If you play up, you pay up," Mr Muthsam said.
"(We want) people to stop and think and be aware of what can happen."
Acknowledging that many people do use alcohol responsibly, Mr Muthsam said he hoped by showing the ads in licensed premises they would act as a deterrent, reminding people not to go overboard.
Griffith LAC licensing supervisor, Sergeant Brett Ryan, said police did not want to stop people having fun, but instead crack down on inappropriate, drunken behaviour.
"To ensure everyone has a hassle-free night, Leeton police will be in and around licensed premises targeting intoxication and anti-social behaviour," Sergeant Ryan said.
"Police are not stopping people having a good time with friends, but (urging you) to take responsibility for your own actions.
"Getting drunk and making a bad decision can change your life forever.
"Don't use alcohol as an excuse to get into a fight or do something you wouldn't do when you're sober."
