Of the four competitive grand finals the Raiders played in, they came away with premierships in all grades.
LEETON Maroon went down 34-18 to a strong Narrandera/DPC/Hay outfit in the non-competitive final.
Although leading 12-0 at half-time, some second-half defensive lapses enabled the opposition to take the lead and they hung on to win.
However, the boys' efforts could not be faulted, with the opposition continually upsetting their rhythm with quick line speed and numbers in tackles.
Cody Browne continued his recent form with a superb individual try while Josh Davis and Noah Maybon made inroads with determined runs.
Logan Mahalm steered the boys around the park and was heavily marked by the opposition. Kalem Thompson, Ryan Jordan and Jack Graham again led the boys in defence, while Jaite Eyles and Braith McCann continued to put pressure on their opponents with enthusiasm in defence.
Congratulations to the boys on a terrific year and big thank you to everyone who helped out through the season.
Leeton 40 (tries - Kye Davis 3, Coopa Steele, Jake McGregor, Dave Poulsen, Stanley Herrmann; cons - Coopa Steele 6) d Waratahs 10 (tries - Talilotu Uoifalelahi, Ihaka Murphy; con - Tom Phillips)
Ken Carroll Memorial best on ground: Harrison Rudd
THE boys were clinical on the day, only making two errors for the whole game.
It was the best game the boys have played and they stood up right across the ground to win 40-10 over Waratahs.
Overall it was a great team performance. Taking on a much bigger side, Leeton showed the hard work at training and on game day really pays off.
Manager Wayne Thomas did an awesome job throughout the year at training and also on game day as he was kept busy running out messages to the boys.
Coach Paul McGregor was proud of the whole team and what it achieved throughout the year and in the grand final. He would love to see all the boys again next year.
Sebastian Farlow (front row): some fantastic runs and played a big part in the victory.
Linkin Protheroe (reserve): did his job when on the field; big runs and got Leeton going forward.
Harry Rudd (halfback): played a big part in the win and was best on ground.
Riley Moore (second row): involved from the start; made some great runs and tackles.
Coopa Steele (centre): another strong game in attack and defence; kicked six from seven goals and scored a great try.
Kyle Darrington (five-eighth): worked well with Harry in the halves getting the boys organised and moving the ball effectively; good try-saving tackles.
Zane Pannowitz (reserve): an under 11 who stepped up for the big game; worked hard when he got his opportunity.
Dave Poulson (front row): damaging runs and tried hard in defence. Scored a great try.
Rowan Matthews (full back): was everywhere; kick return and support play was vital.
Chris Brown (reserve): gave his all in defence and attack when he filled in on the wing and second row.
Josh Thomas (lock): all over the park in defence and attack; made a definite impact all game.
Kaleb Weir (wing): great game with good runs and his ability to tackle bigger players.
Kye Davis (second row): really on his game; barnstorming runs and three tries.
Stanley Herrmann (centre): his usual strong game, taking on the opposition in attack and defence; scored under the posts after a good run.
Vinnie Millemaggi (reserve): the other under 11s player who helped out; strong in attack and defence.
Sebastian Piltz (wing): great support play and runs; pulled off some good tackles.
Jake McGregor (hooker): a livewire with great service out of dummy half; worked hard all day; rewarded with a try after he caught the markers napping.
Fletcher Blackett (unavailable): injured, but there to support the team; never left the coach's side.
Deegan Whiteman (unavailable): illness meant he missed the game; had been playing and training well.
Leeton 36 (tries - Kynan Headon 2, Matt Feagai 2, Koby Eglinton, Dayne Butler, Max Feagai; cons - Ryan Pitt 3, Kody Collins) d Yenda 14 (tries - Anthony Sloane, Ryan Hurst, Nick Jones; con - Ryan Pratt)
Ken Carroll Memorial best on ground: Matt Feagai
LEETON topped off a great year by winning the Junior Group 20 grand final.
The team played really well in hot conditions.
Koby Eglinton had a great game and was the first to score by powering his way over the try line. Dayne Butler timed his scoots from dummy-half perfectly to score Leeton's next.
Matt Feagai was sensational, scoring two tries and defended brilliantly. Not to be outdone by his twin, Max Feagai also scored a fantastic try.
Speedster Kynan Headon weaved through the Yenda defence to score twice and Kody Collins not only produced the bell-ringer that coach Andrew Pauls had predicted, but also kicked a conversion.
Ryan Pitt had a great day with the boot, kicking three conversions.
Leeton played extremely well as a team and won 36-14. Matt Feagai was awarded the Ken Carroll Memorial best on ground award.
Leeton proved it was the best under 13s team in the Riverina by taking out the Group 20 competition and the Riverina Schoolboys Knockout at Junee.
Leeton White 12 (tries - Jamie Taylor 2; cons - Talise Rudd 2) d Hay 8 (tries - Savannah Pryor, Jamilah Pryor)
Pat Godfrey Award best on ground: Talise Rudd
LEETON White capped off an awesome, undefeated season by beating Hay 12-8 in a hard-fought grand final.
The girls started the game slowly and were down 4-0 at half-time.
After a rev-up from coach Shane Leighton the girls came out firing with great attacking runs from Holly Sheldrick, Jane Baravilala, Tally Rudd and Sarah Allen.
Jamie Taylor and Jen Jen Ravu were at their dynamic best in attack and defence while Shelby Van Buuren, Demi Leighton, Caitlin Stanmore, Kayla Edwards and Leanne Cristafaro were rock solid in defence, shutting down Hay every time they had the ball.
Rudd capped off a great season by winning the Pat Godfrey player of the match.
This side has now won premierships two years in a row while remaining undefeated.
Leeton Green 16 (tries - Christine McDonald, Tess Staines, Nakiea McVittie; cons - Christine McDonald, Hannah Pitt) d Yenda 0
Pat Godfrey Award best on ground: Tess Staines
LEETON Green played a strong Yenda team in the grand final.
They were the only team that beat them this year, so the girls were nervous going into the game.
However, the nerves quickly disappeared after Christine McDonald scored in the early stages, converting her own try for a 6-0 lead.
A try to Tess Staines, converted by Hannah Pitt, took Leeton into the break with a 12-0 lead.
Leeton came out full of confidence from the half-time break with Nakiea McVittie sealing the win with a great try.
It was a pleasure to watch the girls play with the whole team giving 100 per cent for the duration in their best performance for the season. It was rewarding seeing all the hard work they had put in at training pay off as every one of the girls stepped up.
Yenda is a quick team with great ball handling, but could not break Leeton's perfect defence.
Edie Rudd, Sophie McGregor and Tess Staines took charge down the middle of the field with Sophie strong again with her tagging.
Ever-reliable fullback Haley Pattison had a massive game. Twins Christine and Sammie McDonald had a damaging defensive game with great support from Paige Porter, Hannah Pitt and Talise Rudd.
Patricia Cristofaro, Jo Irvine, Nakiea McVittie, Taylah Simpson, Hannah Bennett and Bella Wells all had magnificent games and were reliable in defence and attack. Kiara Sizer sat on the bench and supported, despite having had surgery on her broken ankle only a couple of days earlier.
