WITH winter football winding up, Leeton Touch Association has been preparing for its season by hosting a series of school-based clinics.
It is hoped the clinics will by encourage competitors in the association's primary school-age competition, which had to be scrapped last season due to low numbers.
Association president Jackson Goman has visited the shire's larger primary schools with the help of Erin Bonetti and a number of senior students who are experienced players and referees.
Last week Goman was at St Joseph's Primary, the week before that was Leeton Public School and next week the clinic will run at Parkview.
"The primary school-age comp didn't run last year so we want to get the word out and encourage people to join," Goman said.
Clinics were held in year groups from year 3 to 6 and students went through a number of skills and drills to help them become better touch football players.
