I noticed an advertisement in The Rural for an auction sale of "used items" from the golf club under the banner of Rundles Auctions.
I would suspect this decision was made by a council employee who has designated authority, I certainly hope it was not a decision made by council itself.
Were any local auctioneers asked to submit a quote to do the job? If not, why not?
Leeton has three local agents who are very good agents and who would be more than capable of conducting an auction of this calibre.
Is Rundles a ratepayer - all our local real estate agents and their staff are.
Notice our main street councillors? It is in the saddest state (vacant shops) I can ever remember. Is this partly due to "shopping out of town?
Shame on Leeton Shire Council.
