Councillor Paul Maytom was re-elected to the top job on Wednesday night, marking his 10th term as mayor, while councillor George Weston also retained his position as deputy mayor.
Neither faced opposition during the vote, with general manager John Batchelor announcing they had been re-elected after no other contenders threw their hat into the ring.
Cr Maytom said there were issues facing council and the shire in the year ahead.
"Obviously we've got the local government reforms, which is one of the biggest things I've seen happen during my time as a councillor," he said.
"I do believe this past year has been a great one for our council.
"We've delivered a lot for our community in the past 12 months, but not to the detriment of our finances.
"I would like to thank councillor Weston for his work as he is a real pillar of support.
"I want to assure you that my dedication is there, my enthusiasm hasn't dropped off and my health is good - there's nothing there to stop me going forward in this role."
Cr Weston voted on Wednesday night not to receive an extra fee for the role.
He said being deputy mayor was a job he enjoyed.
"I would like to thank my fellow councillors for their faith in myself and the mayor," he said.
"I do believe we have a great council.
"One thing I believe we need to do is continue to grow our business community and keep ticking that over.
"We need to attract people here.
"I'm sure it's going to be another good year."
