Adel Louise Nation appeared in Lismore District Court last Friday where she was due to be sentenced on two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death.

Ms Nation was charged following an accident on the Pacific Highway near Grafton in November, 2011.

The crash resulted in the death of Leeton residents Robert Jones and his wife Sue, who were travelling in a white Tarago van.

It is alleged Ms Nation was behind the wheel of a Range Rover that was involved in an incident with a semi-trailer and as a result entered the south-bound lane of the highway.

It was then that the Range Rover collided with the van the Jones' were travelling in.

Emergency services were quickly on the scene, but the pair passed away at the scene.

Ms Nation, as well as three child passengers - a boy and two girls - were taken to hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.

Following the accident the Leeton couple was remembered by the community for their generous and selfless nature.

They were well-known for their work with foster children and had been on their way home from Queensland at the time of the accident.

Ms Nation will re-appear in Lismore District Court on November 18 for sentencing.

THE Leeton woman accused of assaulting a police officer last month has pleaded guilty to the offence, as well as numerous other charges stemming from the same incident.

Jasmine Holt, 35, was charged with assaulting a police officer after she kicked a senior constable who was responding to a domestic dispute.

She appeared in Leeton Local Court last Friday where magistrate Shane McAnulty handed her a section 12 good behaviour bond for a period of 15 months for the assault.

Ms Holt received a further section 12 bond for 15 months for the offence of resisting arrest, a $250 fine for using offensive language and a $300 fine for a property offence charge.

She was also ordered to pay $600 to cover the cost of the damage.
