The students and staff travelled to Melbourne to be part of the event during the school holidays, competing in the cattle, sheep and equine categories.
The school was triumphant in taking out Borthwick Trophy for its purebred Angus steers, as well as year 11 student Natalie Grylls named the champion schools cattle parader.
In the sheep section YAHS took out the overall schools competition, as well as reserve champion ewe and the most successful exhibitor in the White Suffolk section.
Year 11 student Rose Nevison was named the champion senior handler in the sheep category.
For the best prepared, presented and handled clydesdale the school won the Denzildon Trophy.
YAHS principal Daryl Finch said the school prided itself on the achievements.
"I doubt any other school has taken out the 'handler' trophies in sheep, cattle and clydesdales," he said.
"It's a very impressive achievement for the students and the staff that gave up their holidays.
"We only sent a small team, so to get those results is fantastic."
To prepare for the show students spent many months in the lead up getting everything spot on.
They will now compete in the show circuit at a regional level, including the Leeton Show last Saturday and others at Cootamundra, Albury and potentially Junee.
Some of those events are used to qualify students that will take part in various sections at next year's Sydney Royal Easter Show.
YAHS also picked up many ribbons in the categories of junior judging, parading, handling and more.
"In most of these categories they are in the open section, so it's certainly an achievement to get these results," Mr Finch said.
"I think the students and staff get a lot of enjoyment out of taking part."
