Clare was handpicked to take part in the Rotary Youth Crops, Grain, Agronomy, Grain and Seed Camp (RYCAGS) held from October 26 to 31, where she was given the opportunity to explore career opportunities in the field.

Since a young age, Clare has wanted to be part of the agricultural industry after spending hours on end with her father in his truck and their family friends in the paddock.

She was chosen to take part in the camp after achieving exemplary results in agricultural studies at Leeton High, which garnered the attention of those that organise RYCAGS.

"One of the organisers, Geoff Smith, got in touch with my teachers and asked if I would like to take part," Clare said.

"I had really good results, so that's how they found out about me ... I was really excited to go to Narromine and take part.

"Each day we had morning lectures on things like machinery, insurance, agronomy and other things.

"In the afternoon there were on-site sessions where we went to a grain research station in Trangie, cattle feedlot at Dubbo and machinery retailers."

Another highlight for Clare was attending a dinner in Narromine that was hosted by the town's Rotary club where she was selected to speak on behalf of the students at RYCAGS about the experience.

She was also offered a scholarship at the end of the program, but was unable to take it up as it is based in Narromine.

Clare is unsure whether or not she would continue with year 11 and 12 studies.

"I really want to get started now ... I'd like be involved with ag logistics," she said.

"My heart is really set on it and it's something I've always been involved in and loved."

Clare thanked the Rotary Club of Leeton for its support, as well as RYCAGS organisers and her family.
