From September 14 to October 15, Leeton Shire Council rangers attended a variety of calls, including various dog attacks.

The incidents have again prompted council to warn residents about keeping their animals and pets under control.

During the timeframe an unknown number of dogs attacked a goat in Corbie Hill, two sheep were attacked and killed by dogs at a Euroley property and two large hunting dogs killed a neighbour's dog in Stanbridge.

The owner of the dogs destroyed the animals after the incident.

Those incidents were on top of sheep and cattle being killed at Murrami and Stoney Point.

Penalty notices issued during the month were issued for owning a dog that attacks an animal, owning an uncontrolled dog and disobeying a parking sign.

During the same time period there were 27 dogs impounded.

Fourteen were claimed or returned to their owner and five were euthanised.

Of that number just 15 were microchipped when impounded, with eight still remaining at the pound.

Five cats were also taken to the pound in that time and all were euthanised.

Rangers issued notices to 10 properties for overgrown vegetation, responded to instances where kangaroos, snakes and ducks were injured, and impounded one vehicle after it was abandoned.
