The carnival and concert will be held on Sunday at the new time of 4pm for the Rotary hams raffle before the jolly man in red arrives at 6pm.
Committee member Sue Gavel said final arrangements were being made for the concert, which attracts up to 4000 people.
"It's shaping up to be a really good event," Mrs Gavel said.
There will be a range of stalls and entertainment available throughout the afternoon and while the community concert is on stage.
Once the sky turns dark residents can take a ride on a bus or by car to view the many lights adorning homes throughout the town.
Mrs Gavel said it wasn't too late for residents to put up even just a string of lights to get into the spirit of the event.
All of the money raised at the Leeton Up Leeton goes back into the community in the form of lights and decorations around the town, main street and in the park.
Over the years the committee has purchased a huge variety of banners, bunting, silhouettes, wooden cut-outs, decorations, backdrops and lights to help decorate Leeton.
For those that are unable to attend Light Up Leeton, homes will be lit up throughout the festive season, with the event's committee producing an online map of where to go.
Carrington Drive residents Leo and Doreen Watts are known for turning their home into a Christmas masterpiece and spent the majority of this week putting up lights in preparation for Sunday.
"We love doing it every year," Mrs Watts said.
"The main reason we do it is for the kids and families.
"People really love it and we enjoy it too."
Business owners and residents can register their address online, which can be printed to take on the drive around the shire.
