THE Crows have unveiled another pair of new signings for 2015, with one a new face and the other a favourite son returning to the flock.
Brad Boots has re-signed with his old club after a year at Lavington in the Ovens & Murray league, while Werribee Districts player Dan Delaney has joined Leeton-Whitton after deciding on a tree change.
The 20-year-old utility visited Leeton a few weeks ago and liked the town so much he decided he would be happy to sign with the Crows.
"I met the boys, they're a good group of kids," Delaney said.
"(Coach Dave Meline) showed great hospitality and the way he sees the club moving forward, he sees a great future for us.
"But it was more to do with the lifestyle.
"I like the town and had the opportunity to work full-time. I had been studying so it is something a bit different."
Growing up in the Australian rules heartland, Delaney played for the Western Jets in the TAC Cup and also toured New Zealand with the Victorian Amateur Football Association under 18s squad
"I was brought up playing Auskick from when I was six and when I was old enough I started playing for Werribee," he said.
Last season Werribee returned to division one of the Western Region Football League and finished third. Delaney's contribution was minimal after puncturing a lung in an on-field clash early in the year.
However, after working throughout the year he was ready to launch into the Crows pre-season training, which started on Tuesday.
Boots was approached by the Crows and Meline to return to the club in 2015.
Meline said his return to the club would be a plus, not just providing size, but also experience and leadership.
"He's a good bloke to have back," Meline said.
"He's got experience playing seniors at 'Lavi' and they finished third (in the O&M) so it was a good side to get into.
"He'll probably play midfield-forward, but he's another leader, which is good. We've got talented kids, we just need to get experienced heads around."
Delaney is looking for a season of "good, consistent footy".
"From the start of the season to the end of the season I'd like to see the boys grow," he said.
"I'd like to see us go pretty far, but I would just like to enjoy playing footy to be honest."
