The opening of the Leeton Multipurpose Community Centre is by invite only and will include Leeton Shire Council staff, councillors, those that have moved into the building, their superiors and more.
A further community opening will be held on January 28 with many events planned to showcase the new space to residents.
Council community services officer Jackson Goman said the occasion would mirror the effort put into the construction of the new space.
The facility, located in Wade Avenue, has welcomed its first tenants after renovation work was officially completed at the end of November.
Formally the CWA and senior citizens buildings, the facility now has a new name, look and variety of different purposes.
"We're keeping the official opening to invite-only ... it's a semi-formal event," Mr Goman said.
"We wanted to get the openings done early on in the new year so people can see what the facility is all about.
"The organisations we have in there at the moment have been giving us very positive feedback."
Refurbishment work at the facility was able to go ahead thanks to assistance worth $1.3 million through the NSW government's Local Infrastructure Renewal Scheme (LIRS).
The money is in the form of a loan that will have a 4 per cent interest subsidy over 10 years.
Mr Goman said there were some interesting events coming up at the community centre.
"We'll be having various events next month as part of Featured February to showcase the facility and groups that are using it," he said.
"It's a way to get the community engaged and know what's available."
The official opening will be held on Thursday from 6pm to 8pm, while the community opening will be held on January 28.
