Monique Higgins, Georgia Wallace, Remi Wilton, Lou Strachan, Emma Tyrell, Cecilia Smith and Amie Fazekas will all line-up as part of a Southern Inland Rugby Union “city versus country” game before the headline match at Wagga Equex Centre.
Junior Sam Allen will also play in a men’s game before the Brumbies take centre stage.
Country coach and Phantoms president Bart Challacombe said the team was looking good.
“We’ve got the seven from Leeton, three from Griffith and three from Temora up against the ‘city’ side, which is mostly made up of Wagga City girls,” he said.
“Obviously they were last year’s premiers, so we won’t be taking them lightly.
“In saying that we’ve got a strong side, with the seven girls from Leeton all playing in the grand final last year.”
The team has had two training runs in the lead up to the curtain-raiser.
“It’s been hard getting everyone together, but I’m confident in the side we have,” Challacombe said.
“Most have played at a representative level.
“Playing before the main game is pretty exciting because there should be a pretty big crowd there.
“It’s a good pre-season hit out, so the girls will be able to see where they are at and how they are matching up.
“Hopefully we’ll come away with the win.”
