I couldn’t applaud the school more.
Students need to be taught from an early age that bullying should not be tolerated.
Being bullied at school (or the workplace) can be a horrible and debilitating experience.
Having the right amount of awareness and education is crucial in stamping out this behaviour.
By making our young people aware of the damage even “harmless” bullying can cause, hopefully we can make progress on the behaviour one day being non-existent.
It would not doubt also help in preventing bullying from entering the workplace once these children have grown up.
They will have the tools and knowledge to know bullying is not acceptable.
According to the federal government, about one in four year 4 to year 9 Australian students report being bullied every few weeks or more often.
As well as that, 83 per cent of students that bully others online, also bully others offline. Hurtful teasing was the most prevalent of all bullying behaviours.
This is not acceptable and no doubt leads to much anxiety for both students, their parents and teachers.
We must stand together as a community to stamp out bullying.
