For me, not so much.
I work in the media and cover the state election, but there hasn’t really seemed to be that much interest or focus in Leeton.
The candidates running for Murray have only visited Leeton shire a handful of times (if at all) during their campaign.
I would hope residents have been keeping informed about the candidates and what they are standing for.
There’s definitely some interesting choices in there contesting the the new seat of Murray.
A cross-section of community members have put their hand up to face off against incumbent Adrian Piccoli.
They have put forward constructive ideas for change and how they will assist the community should they be elected.
Politics is a tricky thing and not something the average Joe is all that interested in, so it can take quite a bit of work to make a difference.
Hopefully whoever is elected will be able to do so.
The other hope is they will continue to their constituents and work on behalf of them. There is no doubt there’s some big issues facing the community and the member of parliament will need to be on top of these.
Whoever you vote for, make sure it is the person that best suits your thoughts and values.
