Last weekend Leeton hosted the Group 20 Junior Rugby League competition’s first gala day of the year at the LHS ovals.
Hundreds of players and spectators attended the event.
Organiser Kelly Pauls said it was a big day, but a pleasing way to start the season.
“The day was a success due to a group effort done to ensure all games were played in the best spirit of all participants,” she said.
“The older age groups were playing for representative qualifications.
“The younger age groups just wanted to play rugby league and league tag.
“For those of you that missed this first round our next gala day is at Yanco Agricultural High school (on Saturday).”
The junior rugby league competition is always popular in Leeton shire each year.
