The championships will be held on Easter Saturday, with competitors of all ages set to take part in the BMX, scooter and skateboard categories.
Each year the championships are held over the Easter weekend in a bid to showcase talent of riders throughout the region, as well as giving them a chance to compete.
Leeton Shire Council community services officer Jackson Goman said the event promised thrills and spills.
He said the event was being organised by the Leeton Youth Committee and Totem Skate School.
“This year’s we’re holding it on Easter Saturday instead of Easter Monday,” Mr Goman said.
“It was trialled on a Saturday a couple of years ago when it wasn’t a (SunRice) festival year.
“Hopefully will encourage more people to take part as it will given them more of an opportunity to travel and be part of the event.”
This year the Riggz Cup will again be up-for-grabs.
Categories on the day will be for those of a beginner, intermediate and open level.
“There’s going to be heaps of prizes and from what I understand gear and equipment up-for-grabs,” Mr Goman said.
“We’re expecting there to be a lot of talent on show.
“It’s always exciting to get down there, have a look and see it all happening.”
Those wanting to take part can sign up on the day.
“I think having it on the Saturday will allow for more entrants,” Mr Goman said.
“We normally get lots of local residents taking part and then others from across the region.
“However, it’s also a chance for those that might be in town visiting to take part … I do remember one year we had an entrant from Melbourne.”
Demonstrations will be held during the championships. There will be a barbecue and drinks available throughout the day.
Mr Goman said it would be a good opportunity for families looking to do something on Easter Saturday to enjoy.
The championships will be held from 11am to 4pm.
