Reece Maguire starred with the bat, with knocks of 49 and 77 helping L&D secure the title over the Narrandera Carpheads.
L&D captain Sam Alampi said his team’s ability to stay composed following a middle order batting collapse helped enormously towards his team’s win.
“We weren't surprised to have done so well in the final. It was a team effort and that is what we've tried to be consistent with all year,” he said.
“We're really excited to have won.
“We did have a bit of a batting collapse, which has happened a bit this year, but we were able to go on from there.”
L&D batted first with Maguire and opening partner Axtill (25 & 31) laying a solid platform.
Maguire was the first to fall with the score on 86.
Axtill was the next to go with the score on 98 which triggered a major batting collapse.
L&D lost 9-40 as they were bundled out for 138, after such a promising start.
Jacob Anderson put in a massive bowling effort, taking 6-54 from 19.4 overs.
Narrandera had to get through a tricky session at the close of the first day.
L&D was on form the with the ball as they took the box seat after reducing the Carpheads to 5-37 by stumps.
Rohan Rehwinkel (30) and Nick Hirst (21) resumed batting on the second day.
They put up much more of a fight. Rehwinkel eventually fell with the score on 62 and the tail was quickly cleaned up, as Narrandera were bowled out for 77.
L&D only had to use Ben Elwin (2-25), Adrian Axtill (3-17) and Mitch Hardie (5-28) to dismiss Narrandera.
Having secured a first innings lead, L&D could take victory by batting out the remaining overs.
Once again Maguire and Axtill started brilliantly, putting on a 94 run opening stand.
Rehwinkel snared both openers’ wickets but Hardie (31 not out) and Steve Campbell (16) were on hand to eat up some overs.
Alampi praised his whole team on their efforts.
“We had a lot of standout players, but it really was a team effort,” he said.
“In the second innings Reece Maguire was a standout with 77 runs and so was Adrian (Axtill).
“Our bowlers in the first innings were just fantastic.
“For now we'll just be enjoying the win. It was a great feeling to win.”
