There were only six L&D lady bowling members playing. However, with 10 of of the L&D’s "bowling friends" turning up for the day, it certainly helped to boost numbers.
It was a great day on the greens even though the wind caused some frustration. Mick Dooley was on hand helping couch the ladies and again both the new and seasoned bowlers took advantage of his couching.
Winners were Wilma Alexander and Hilary Chambers. The raffle winner was Lorraine Mullins. After lunch there was a birthday cake and candles with everyone singing the birthday song to Alexander.
This week the triples championships will be played at Griffith Exies, with the L&D well represented by three teams. This week social bowls will be played at the usual time of 9.30 am. Have names in early if you haven’t already.
