The Logies were held in Melbourne on Sunday, with Mr Speer, who plays Oscar on Home and Away, relishing the opportunity to take part for the second time.
Home and Away was inducted into the Hall of Fame and Mr Speer took to the stage with his castmates to be presented the coveted Logie.
“There was a great vibe as soon as I hit the red carpet and once (Dave Hughes) ‘Hughsey’ started ripping into Karl Stefanovic I knew we were in for an entertaining night,” he said.
“ With the anticipation of the induction into the Hall of Fame, the Home and Away tables were buzzing.
“Everyone was in a great mood and very proud to be apart of the show.”
Home and Away was also awarded the Logies for most popular drama for the second consecutive year.
Mr Speer said he had many highlights from the night.
“I think Dave Hughes' opening monologue set the perfect tone for the night and really relaxed everyone,” he said.
“I was in stitches all night. Between Hughesy and Julia Morris I was laughing to the point of tears.
“I was able to have a great chat with Kate Richie, which was a fantastic opportunity to speak with one of the Home and Away greats.
“Of course winning most popular drama second year in a row was another awesome moment. It's so wonderful to see the show do so well.
“I think something else that was very special for the night was that I was able to be there with Brandon McClelland, a very good mate of mine, and now Logie nominee. Going through drama school together and now being at TV's night of nights was unbelievable.”
The night was part of many exciting things happening for Mr Speer.
“I've recently been in talks with the Roxy Theatre and I can announce that Just Startin' Out, my broadway cabaret that featured there as a one night only performance (in 2014), will be coming back for an extended run later this year,” he said. “We are still working out the details but we're all very excited.”
