The organising behind Leeton’s most well-community event has called on residents to help out in organising the festival.
Festival director Sally Doig said community members could give as little or as much time as they pleased.
“We’re doing things a little bit differently for this festival,” she said.
“Instead of having a committee that handles such a huge event, we’re breaking it up into smaller sub-committees.
“So that means if you’re interested in the parade, the hot air balloons, the ambassador quest, or any of the other great events that are part of the festival, you can be part of those smaller groups.
“They will focus just on that event and you can give as much time as you like.”
The SunRice Festival continues to grow in popularity and next year will be no different, according to Mrs Doig.
She said all of the town’s favorite events would be returning.
“The other reason we would love people to join these sub-committees is to provide some fresh ideas,” Mrs Doig said.
“We’re always after positive input from the community and by being part of the organising you get to do this and put your ideas in place.
“We think the festival is a great event, but there is always room for improvement.”
A big part of the biennial event is the Ambassador Quest, which in 2014 raised more than $80,000 for the Leeton shire community.
Mrs Doig said the time was now for residents to start thinking about taking part.
“It’s open to anyone over the age of 18,” she said.
“You can be young, old, married, single, female or male.
“It doesn’t matter as long as you are willing to give it a go.
“It’s a really great experience and it really benefits our town.
“Our entrants last year did such a fantastic job, which was really great to see.”
The fund-raising period for ambassadors starts on December 1 through until Easter.
Mrs Doig said residents should take the opportunity to be part of the quest and the festival as a whole.
“It’s such a great event for our town,” she said.
“It brings people here and residents really look forward to it.
“We would love to have some new helpers on board to help us keep the festival fresh.
“If you’re interested in being an ambassador you can get in touch with me, or if you’re part of a committee that would like to be involved with the quest we can try and place you with an entrant.”
