THE Leeton Multipurpose Community Centre was given the tick of approval at the quarterly business breakfast that was held this week.

Leeton Shire Council and a different business host the event four times each year.
The May breakfast was hosted by the Riverina Community College (RCC), which is based at the new community centre in Wade Avenue that was officially opened by council earlier this year.
The event was an opportunity for the shire’s business leaders to take a quick look through the facility and learn how it is being used.
RCC regional business development co-ordinator Vanessa Jennings gave a short presentation at Tuesday’s event.
She said the new centre had been crucial to the continued development of not just her business, but the various other organisations and community groups that utilise the facilty.
“It’s been amazing since we relocated down here,” Mrs Jennings said.
“The opportunities that are available to us and to the other businesses that work from the centre are great.
“Currently 11 businesses call it home.
“We also have people like Ruth Tait coming in and teaching, Barb Wright has music lessons here and Ann Rayment hosts art classes.
“It’s a fantastic facility … there’s so much scope available.”
Mrs Jennings said it also allowed the current businesses to network and bounce ideas off each other.
“We’ve got organisations like community transport and Western Riverina Arts working together,” she said.
“That is what it is all about.”
About 30 people attended the breakfast, with attendees staying on after the presentation for a bite to eat, as well as taking the opportunity to network with each other.
“I’m stoked with how the breakfast has gone,” Mrs Jennings said.
“It’s always good for the business community to get together and catch up.
“This is a good way to do that.
“We’re really excited about what the future holds for this building and the groups that use it.”
Leeton Tourism co-ordinator Brent Lawrence said the event helped businesses to reach out and learn from each other.
“This was our second one for the year,” he said.
“I think it’s gone very well.
“It’s been good to be able to showcase the new multipurpose centre.
“Our next one will be on September 22.
“We haven’t confirmed a host for that one yet, so if there are interested businesses out there they should get in touch.”
