The group is down to a limited number of members on its fund-raising committee and it could mean a big decision needs to be made.
JumpStart chairman Rob Hillier said the fund-raising committee played an important role.
“We only had four people at our last meeting,” Mr Hillier said.
“We’ve got our annual general meeting coming up on Tuesday, so we would love to see more people there.
“It would be a shame to have to put the committee into recess.
“If that were to happen we would still have our assessment committee.
“That’s separate to what we do fund-raising wise.
“With the sale of the house we still have funds that can be distributed to Leeton shire residents … we’ve done a bit of a calculation and we think there’s probably about five years (of funding) available.
“If we can still have the fund-raising committee ticking over and just doing small things we could probably stretch it out to 10 years.”
Mr Hillier said residents wouldn’t have to give up much time in order to help.
He said holding raffles, street stalls and similar fund-raisers would be enough to keep the money ticking over. I think if we were put in the position where it had to go into recess it can be hard to get those things started again,” Mr Hillier said.
“JumpStart is a loved community group and it’s so specific to Leeton. It’s for the people of Leeton when they need help the most.”
JumpStart and the community worked together to build a house to auction off in 2012 and its proceeds continue to help Leeton shire residents during a crisis.
Mr Hillier said anyone interested in helping out could head along to the AGM on Tuesday.
“We have said we’ll hold another meeting if the AGM isn’t a success to determine what should happen next,” he said.
“We’ve love to see some new faces … we can’t keep relying on the same people.
“It’s not a big commitment. We meet once every two months and like I say we’ll just be doing the smaller fund-raisers to keep the money ticking over.”
The AGM will be held at the Leeton Soldiers Club on Tuesday at 5.30pm.
