Hopper was the only NSW player to make the grade. His dominance for NSW/ACT also had him named as their most valuable player.
Hopper averaged 26 disposals and eight clearances across the Rams' three matches. He is a competitive ball-winner capable of shaping the momentum of a game through sheer effort around the contest.
Hopper, who is a member of the Giants academy and seems likely to head there at the end of the year, also likes to press forward and kick goals, evidenced by his bag of four in round one of the TAC Cup.
Hopper has been playing with the Ballarat Rebels and goes to school at St Patrick’s College where he is vice-captain.
There is speculation he could be one of the top picks during this year’s AFL draft.
Hopper has recently spoken about the need for clear pathways for Riverina players hoping to make it in AFL.
