The Leeton Italian Catholic Committee will hold its inaugural salami night on September 12 and all community members have been invited to take part.
Fine dining in the way of Italian food will be on offer, including pasta, antipasto platters, Italian torte and gelato and more.
One of the highlights of the night will be a salami competition that is offering $200 for first prize, $100 for second and $50 for third.
There will also be a people’s choice award.
Leeton Italian Catholic Committee president Dom Amato said the key to a good salami was a bit of spice.
“Everyone tends to do it their own way, which is what makes them so unique,” he said.
“Hopefully we get lots of entries.”
Typically the committee holds just the one event each year – the Festa Della Madonna in December.
“We want to try and have the salami night as another annual event,” Mr Amato said.
“Any money raised goes back into the parish.
“There’s definitely lots of projects for the money to go towards.
“We’re still working on lots of different things for Madonna Place.”
The evening will be held on September 12 at Madonna Place from 7pm.
Bookings are essential, with adult tickets $40 per person, children $15 and under 10s free.
