The Leeton Lions Club will host the event at Leeton High School on Sunday, which will double as a fund-raiser for its literacy program and a celebration for Father’s Day.
It is the first time the club has held a fun day in recent memory.
The aim of the day will be to provide families with an opportunity to come together, but to also raise the vital funds for the reading program.
Any profits from the day will go towards the initiative, but Leeton Lions Club treasurer Sheree Collins mainly wanted to ensure the community has a good time.
“I’m not really too sure where the idea came from,” Mrs Collins said.
“It sort of just popped into my head and we’ve gone from there.
“We wanted to do something that would bring families together, give them the opportunity to get outdoors and take part in activities together.”
One of the highlights of the day will be the group Fusion Riverina hosting various activities for young and old.
There will also be a variety of food stalls, face painting, storytelling, Lion’s train, merry-go-round, family photos and more.

Mrs Collins was hopeful families and community members would be able to take part in “good old-fashioned fun”.
“There’s definitely going to be something for everyone,” she said.
“Our Leo’s Club, which we’re starting up, will also be there on the day.
“It’s been really good to see the young people around town wanting to have fun.
“Hopefully we will be able to make some sort of profit for the literacy program because it’s very important. It’s just one of the things we’re doing as a club.
“We just want everyone to come and have a good time. It will be Father’s Day, so people can use our event as their way to celebrate that.
“Everyone is welcome to come. We want people to have fun and enjoy themselves. Hopefully we will be able to hold it again next year.”
The family fun day will be held from noon to 5pm at the LHS grounds.
Tickets are $10 per family.
