In May they attended the North West Equestrian Expo in Coonabarabran where 600 riders and 800 horses competed.
Paige and her pony Posy managed to take out champion in the 13 year age group for show jumping after competing in three rounds for two first places and a second place. Paige also competed in 80cm eventing and finished in 9th place in her division.
A third place in the Hacking gave her the total points to finish as reserve champion 13 years girl rider. India competed in dressage and in muddy conditions managed a second place in the 2.2 test and a third in the 2.3.
In the 80cm eventing, India and her horse Rambler came in first place after dressage and a clear round of showjumping, but a tricky line into the water jump caused a run out, which cost them 20 penalties and had them finish in fifth place. In the hacking they placed fifth in the Hunter Galloway.
At the end of June the girls competed in the NSW Interschool Championships at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. India and her horse Rambler competed in 80cm eventing, they were placed first after dressage and had a clear round of show jumping.
On the cross country phase Rambler fatigued and this cost them many time penalties. In the dressage they placed first in the 2.2 with 70.71 per cent and second in the 2.3 with 69.14 per cent, resulting in India being awarded senior secondary champion in novice dressage.
Paige competed in 80cm eventing and managed a clear round of show jumping, a slip by her horse coming out of the water jump caused a run out at the brush jump and cost 20 penalties taking her out of the placings. In the 80cm showjumping Paige was competing against all riders of secondary school age and finished with 2 top 10 placings.
India was selected to be part of the NSW Interschool team to compete at the Interschool Nationals in novice dressage and 80cm eventing during the recent school holidays.
